The 1500 truck van RAM is one of the most impressive offerings on the market. In a market dominated and saturated by pickups, it’s quite an achievement to remain one of the best and most outstanding vehicles year after year, but the Ram 1500 manages to do just that. Between 2019 and 2021, Stellantis took the opportunity to honor the men and women of the United States Armed Forces with five special “Built to Serve” editions of their Ram 1500 truck. These trucks honored the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.
Now in 2022, in the second phase of their “Built to Serve” lineup, the Ram 1500 Firefighter Edition honors America’s first responders – the firefighters, the police officers and emergency medical services. The Built to Serve Firefighter Edition of the 2022 Ram 1500 can be had on any configuration and engine option and comes with exterior upgrades, aluminum wheels and clear badging. There are also plenty of features that characterize the limited-edition truck, among others. In that spirit, here are 10 things you should know about the 2022 Ram 1500 Built to Serve Firefighter Edition.

9/10 Ram made exclusive visual changes to the exterior of the 1500 Firefighter Edition
Ram made some exclusive visual changes to highlight the Built to Serve editions to make them stand out from the crowd. Each BTS truck features an American flag and “Built to Serve” decal on the rear side panels. The trucks also come with a blacked-out grille.
The Firefighter Edition rides on 20-inch aluminum wheels and the wheel arches are body-colored instead of black. Side steps on either side from wheel to wheel are also standard on the BTS Ram 1500, along with dual four-inch black exhaust tips.
8/10 Ram 1500 ‘BTS’ Firefighter Edition cabin features black accents and Velcro closures
On the inside of the Ram 1500 Built to Serve Ram trucks, the interior features a Black Onyx Chrome color scheme. Stitching comes in orange accents along with all-weather rubber slush mats. Each seat also features “Built to Serve” embossed headrests.
The cab also features a BTS decal on the instrument panel and the panels also have Velcro on which customers can apply their own patches, such as name bands, slogans and flags. Ram has used a Pouch Attachment Ladder System/Modular Lightweight Load-bearing Equipment (PALS/MOLLE) on the rear panels of the front seats, allowing customers to add more equipment or pouches.

It’s not just the body panels and decals that are exclusive to the Ram 1500 Built to Serve Edition models. The trucks ride on 20-inch aluminum wheels that also get an edition-exclusive color scheme.

However, this National First Responders Incentive does not apply to the Ram 1500 TRX truck, the brand’s most powerful, fastest-driving monstrosity.
