AUCTION: 2004 Ram SRT-10 VCA Edition with turbocharger.

In the mid-2000s, the Dodge Ram SRT-10 dominated the high-performance pickup market. Upon release in 2004, members of the Viper Club of America (VCA) were able to enter a lottery to purchase a very limited version of the Ram SRT-10.

The VCA edition (also known as the “Wolfgang” edition), had a special Electric Blue exterior paint with double Stone White stripes, special serialized badging, and the engine was signed by the then Chrysler Group’s former Chief Operating Officer (COO ) Wolfgang Bernhard who was instrumental in producing the truck. Only 52 units were produced (50 units for the public, 2 were converted to automatics and used as pace vehicles for NASCAR).

This particular truck has serial number 15/50 and is currently for sale on the popular car auction site BringATrailer.com.

What makes this truck particularly unique is the number of modifications that have been made to it.

On the exterior there is the addition of a front splitter, an aftermarket domed hood with SRT-10 intake, side exhaust outlets, a raised rear spoiler, aftermarket heater mirrors and a body colored tonneau cover. The truck sits on 22-inch blue-painted wheels with 305/40 BFGoodrich G-Force T/A rubber. The trucks also feature aftermarket headlights with LED halos, LED fog lights and taillights.

As for what’s under the hood, the 8.3-liter VIPER V10 has had a major overhaul. Modified by JTS Venom Performance in Denver, North Carolina, the V10 was upgraded with an 81mm turbocharger, front-mount intercooler, tubular exhaust headers, Stryker cylinder heads, Wiseco pistons, K1 connecting rods, Clevite TriMetal bearings, dual wastegates and a Griffin radiator.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission, a carbon fiber drive shaft and a limited-slip differential. The differential was reportedly rebuilt by Drivetrain Specialists of Warren, Michigan, and the transmission was reportedly rebuilt.

Aftermarket suspension components are also fitted. Instead of using brakes from the Ram Heavy Duty, this truck carries four-wheel Wilwood vented discs. The selling dealer notes that the brake booster has been replaced.

Inside, there are reinforced seats reupholstered in blue and white leather. Amenities include a power driver’s seat, air conditioning, cruise control, auto-dimming rear view mirror, Infinity sound system, Pioneer head unit, push button start, metal pedal caps and an aftermarket shifter.

Additional gauges are located on the A-pillar for fuel pressure, broadband air/fuel ratio and turbocharger boost pressure, along with a Turbosmart eBoost2 boost controller in the center console. The digital odometer shows 3,600 miles.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and provides a breakdown of history in Florida, Nevada, Texas, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.

There are only a few hours left in the auction on this amazing Ram SRT-10. So far, the bidding is up to $45,000 (as of writing this article). With Ram SRT-10s gaining popularity with collectors again, we are sure someone will get their hands on this truck for their collection.
