The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued recalls for August 11-18, including a recall from GMC of 484,155 units and a recall from Mitsubishi of 76,508 units. BMW

BMW of North America, LLC. (BMW) is recalling select 2018 540d xDrive vehicles equipped with an exhaust gas recirculation module (EGR) with an integrated cooler. The EGR cooler can leak internally, mixing coolant with diesel engine soot, resulting in smoldering particles and a melting intake manifold. 298 units are affected. read more

Cadillac

General Motors, LLC (M) is recalling certain Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles for 2021-2022 equipped with third row seats. The rivet holding the buckle to the mounting bracket in the left or right third-row seat belt buckle may not be formed properly. 484,155 units are affected. read more

General Motors, LLC (M) is recalling certain Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles for 2021-2022 equipped with third row seats. Chrysler

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022 Voyager and Pacifica vehicles. The wiper arm nuts may not be tightened properly, preventing the wipers from working properly. 508 units are affected. read more

Ford

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022 Maverick vehicles. The side curtain airbags may not deploy properly. As such, these vehicles do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 226, “Ejection Mitigation”. 64,974 units are affected. read more

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022 Transit vehicles equipped with a rear view camera. These vehicles may have a missing Audio Control Module (ACM), which means there is no image from the rear view camera in reverse gear. 46 units are affected. read more

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain F-150 vehicles for 2021-2022. Bottom heat and sound insulators can come loose and come into contact with the aluminum drive shaft, causing damage and breakage to the drive shaft. 58,203 units are affected. read more

GMC

Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2016 Sedona and Sorento vehicles. The vehicles may have been manufactured with defective automatic transmission shift lever components, which prevent the shift lever from locking, causing the vehicle to roll. 28,065 units are affected. read more

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Velar vehicles. The vehicles are manufactured without an Audio Amplifier Module (AAM) and therefore do not offer audio safety features such as seat belt warnings, turn signal sounds and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) warnings. 52 units are affected. read more

Nissan

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Rogue Hybrid vehicles. The hydraulic brake booster can overheat internally, causing the power brakes to fail. As such, these vehicles do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 135, “Light Vehicle Brake Systems”. 5,904 units are affected. read more

Volvo

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain Volvo UN vehicles from 2023. The engine control module (ECM) may experience an internal electrical short, causing the engine to stall. 12 units are affected. read more

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling select 2022 F-Pace vehicles. The vehicles are manufactured without an Audio Amplifier Module (AAM) and therefore do not offer audio safety features, such as seat belt warnings, turn signal sounds and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) warnings. 18 units are affected. read more

Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Outlander Sport vehicles equipped with continuously variable transmissions and key mechanical ignition systems. A software error in the transmission control module (CVT-ECU) can incorrectly reduce the transmission gear ratio at high speeds, resulting in an engine stall. 76,508 units are affected. read more
