Many people regret buying their car after a short time. Is that true for the full-size Ram 1500 pickup? As one of the top-rated models available, it’s easy to tell whether or not customers are happy with their purchase. Does anyone regret purchasing the Ram 1500 using Consumer Reports satisfaction surveys?
Is the 2022 Ram 1500 worth buying?
The 2022 Ram 1500 is one of the few full-size trucks worth buying. Plus, it’s a strong, capable classic truck, but it’s also incredibly comfortable. In addition to its incredible towing and hauling power, the Ram 1500 has a premium interior that rivals luxury SUVs. It’s no mistake that multiple respected reviewers have placed it at the top of their rankings.
Of course, no vehicle is perfect, but Ram’s offering is as close as a truck of this size gets. Is anything bad enough to make buyers regret their purchase decision? According to Consumer Reports, almost all Ram 1500 owners are satisfied with their purchase.
Seventy-three percent of owners say they would buy the Ram 1500 a second time. While that’s very high, it’s less than the Ford F-150, Toyota Tundra, and Ram 2500. It doesn’t fall short by much, though. Even the most satisfying F-150 won just over 78 percent of owners, which isn’t far ahead of Ram’s truck.
What Are Common Ram 1500 Complaints?

According to CR, the worst parts of the Ram 1500 are the high entry and fuel economy. Unfortunately, a high entry is not easily solvable for large pickups. Most owners will have to buy factory or aftermarket footboards to make getting in a little easier.
Plus, the Ram 1500 gets 11 city and 24 highway mpg. While that’s not extremely lower than other big trucks, it’s not the best. In addition, most trucks, including the Ram 1500, now offer a hybrid powertrain. As a result, fuel consumption issues are largely resolved.
In terms of owner satisfaction, customers are not happy with the overall value of the 2022 Ram 1500. Unfortunately, most people think they haven’t gotten enough bang for their buck. This is common with vehicles because they are generally so expensive, but Ram’s offering is more expensive than many competitors. For example, the base model costs $36,500, but the base F-150 is $31,520.
Is the Ram 1500 reliable?

The 2022 Ram 1500 has an average predicted reliability rating from Consumer Reports. While not perfect, it is surprisingly high compared to rivals. In general, the reliability for the full-size truck segment is not very good. CR uses the experience of previous owners to find vehicle trouble spots over the years.
The Ram 1500 has experienced issues with the in-car power equipment and electronics for the most recent models. However, if we go back to 2017 and earlier, the truck has a lot more problems. As a result, CR struggles to call the Ram 1500 reliable until it has a little more time without so many mechanical headaches. At the time, the engine, transmission, fuel system, exhaust and many more issues were problematic.
Fortunately, the 2022 Ram 1500 should hold its value for a while yet. Pick-up trucks in general, especially well-maintained, often remain valuable. If you are one of the owners who regret their purchase after a few years, you can probably trade or sell it for a reasonable price. Most people are happy with their purchase, though, so as a Ram 1500 owner, you’ll probably be happy with your big truck.
